Photographic Archive

Material for inclusion:

All material will be considered for inclusion depending on relevance and available space. I would prefer items sent as e-mail attachments, but will scan and return documents provided a S.A.E. is included as I do not have infinite time or funds and I cannot be held responsible for loss or damage in transit. Please include details as to when, where, who etc. so that it can be correctly located and given a suitable caption.

If you are sending an attachment please bear in mind the following rules which will be applied to the material:

Pictures should be 8 bit RGB or Greyscale, maximum width 800 pixels, JPEG's preferred, mid-range quality.

Audio should be 8 Bit Mono at 8,000 Hz. .WAV format or any good mono MP3. If I get too many .WAV clips, I will convert them to MP3 to save space, they are a tad bulky.

If any ex-apprentice runs a small businesses and/or has a web site, I will be glad to include a link to the site, e-mail me the necessary details, logo's etc. but don't make the content too large. If there proves to be too many links, I will probably migrate them to your year page.

The main photos in the sections below have been cropped and re-sized to a width of 640 pixels to maintain a uniform approach - a process which inevitably leads to a loss of clarity. 300 or 600 dpi scans are available on request by e-mail - but be warned - files sizes will range from 1.5 to 4 Mbytes for a full colour or greyscale scan @ 600 dpi - depending on the original size.

Each of the pictures on this page can have a caption below it. If you can provide one please do so.
Informative or humerous, preferably both.
Many of the pictures are substantially larger than the usual 640 pixel width. I have left them full
size to retain all the detail. Some are very large in deed, such as the aerial view of the labs.

The picture above came into the posession of Phil Borroughs who runs an art gallery in Harefield High Street. He though it would be appropriate for those attending the annual gatherings to sign it, it will be kept along with the other archive materials and brought to future events for signature by any 'new' faces.

With the exception of the first 3 images which have been left at their scanned size, all images have been reduced to 800 pixels wide.
